ABOUT US

WINNER – Startup weekend Tržič

WINNER – Best pitch, Startup Train Bulgaria

We created Skiler for our oldest son, Nino. The teaching methodology, in our case, had to be even more concise as Nino was born with Down syndrome.

Existing ski-teaching aids did not give us the desired results so we came up with a concept that would allow Nino to safely ski with the family and, at the same time, help him improve his technical skills.

SKIING IS FOR EVERYONE

Skiler works great for kids with special needs.

We make skiing possible for children that many presume would never be able to ski. It brings joy and satisfaction, not only to them but to their parents and tutors as well.

“ARE WE GOING SKIING AGAIN?”

Feedback from experts and parents

“Skiler makes it easier to maintain balance while drifting. The reduced possibility of falls, means greater learning efficiency, while also saving the tutor’s time and energy. Skiler is especially useful on flat surfaces and gentle slopes where beginners can gain the vital information they need, to safely perform basic skiing turns …”

– Blaž Lešnik, President of the Asociation of Skiing Instructors Slovenia (ZUTS)

“… Even though it was foggy and snowy, we had a pleasant skiing day yesterday. Robert Kaštrun and Sanja Steka Kaštrun developed an excellent tool and a great learning methodology. Their son, Nino, is an excellent skier, and you can see sport is part of his genetic code.

Even our son, Val, had a great time!”

– Gaia Asta, Parent

“Our experience with Skiler is overwhelmingly positive! As proof: when we asked our son if he would like to go skiing again, we received a deafening “YEEES!”.

Team Skiler, thank you for this opportunity and pleasant experience!

I am sure we’ll meet lots of little skiing explorers using Skiler aids on the slopes next season!”

– Marko Vrdoljak, Parent

“I must admit I was skeptical at first. But after seeing that in 10-15 minutes, Ana, a girl with Down syndrome, was able to properly steer through the turns, I was pleasantly surprised. The poles that her tutor held and guided her with taught Ana to position her body and align her legs to execute the turns. She practically became a skier only minutes after putting on skis for the first time in her life. In my opinion, this is a great tool. I wish the inventors of Skiler lots of success and I hope other children with special needs try it on and enjoy it, as much as Ana has!”
